Yatai (屋台) is a small Japanese car that typically sells ramen or other hot meals. The name literally means "shop stall."
In 2011, experienced Japanese cook, Kenzo Koketzum, opened the doors to Yatai Sitges_take away, a small Japanese takeaway located in the town of Sitges, right outside Barcelona. Koketzu and his family’s passion fueled the creation of this small but cozy establishment that has always worked with the same philosophy: "cook from the heart.”
In December 2015, Koketzu and his family decided to embark on a new adventure and open the Yatai Bcn_restaurant with the aim of bringing Japanese culture and gastronomy closer to the city of Barcelona.
The menu features everything from rice bowls to stir-fried noodles, japanese curries and sashimi. On weekdays, order one of the 30 dishes available and it will come accompanied by rice, miso soup, the salad of the day, and Japanese pickles.
And don’t forget to check out the dessert menu: green tea ice cream, kakigori (scraped ice) with syrup or azuki and condensed milk, and more.
