Eixample Municipal School of Music

Education
The Municipal Music School Eixample traces its origins back to the EMM Casa dels Nens, which began operating in the 1993-1994 academic year, along with EMM San Andrés. During the 1999-2000 academic year, the school moved from its original location and started sharing spaces with the Concepción School.

The project was consolidated by implementing new pedagogical models and creating a rich and diverse network of instrumental and choral groups that included all the students of the school, contributing to the cultural fabric of the neighborhood.

In 2010, the school established its permanent headquarters in the heart of the Sagrada Família neighborhood and adopted the name Municipal Music School Eixample. In the same year, the singer-songwriter Joan Manuel Serrat became the patron of the school, leading to its renaming as EMM Eixample-Joan Manuel Serrat.

Currently, the school serves over seven hundred students of all ages, from infants to adults, who share a common interest: enjoying music.
