Spain to ban dogs ‘home alone’

Expat news
The Spanish government is going to prohibit leaving dogs alone at home for a long period of time. A new Animal Welfare Act will make it illegal to leave dogs at home alone for more than 24 hours. Cats will also be protected. But you will be able to leave them to rule your home alone for a maximum of 3 days.

A possible fine could range from 500 to 10.000 euros.

And, remember, you cannot constantly keep dogs and cats on balconies and terraces. Well, it’s just common sense and care for our best animal friends.
