Spain to equalize the number of men and women

Expat news
The Spanish authorities approved a bill that guarantees equal representation of men and women in politics and business. Under the new rules, no gender will have less than 40% representation in the Council of Ministers. The highest bodies of each ministry must achieve a balanced representation in the next 5 years. It also concerns boards of directors of publicly listed companies and public interest organizations. If they have more than 250 employees, and a turnover of more than €50 million or assets exceeding €43 million, the number of women cannot be less than 40% of the total number of board members.
