Urban cleaning does not improve in Spain. The survey of satisfaction with street cleaning in 69 Spanish cities shows little progress in the past four years: in two out of three cities the results are mediocre and one out of three fails, in the opinion of its inhabitants. Palma, Alicante, and Seville are the worst and the last on the list “Satisfaction of inhabitants with city cleaning”.
Streets, squares, and gardens cleaning is a matter of concern for citizens, and they have reasons for it, as it affects their quality of life. This is certainly one of the most visible aspects of municipal management, and citizens tend to take it into account when elections arrive.
To gauge public opinion on urban cleanliness, OCU, the largest consumer organization in Spain, conducts periodic surveys of its residents. The results are not positive compared to the previous survey in 2019, as the average rating has dropped.
