Last Friday, a Spanish movie called Bird Box Barcelona made its debut on Netflix. The setting for this film is a post-apocalyptic version of the Catalan capital. The film is a sequel to the original 2018 thriller 'Bird Box,' which featured Sandra Bullock in the lead role.

The film, directed by the Pastor brothers, Lex and David, showcases a talented ensemble that includes Mario Casas, Georgina Campbell, Naila Schuberth, Michelle Jenner, and Leonardo Sbaraglia, the CatalanNews report.

Throughout the movie, viewers will see familiar places in the city, like Plaza de Catalunya with a bus that has been wrecked and pieces of destruction scattered around. Additionally, iconic locations like Barceloneta beach, featuring the prominent W Hotel and a partially submerged cruise ship, add to the atmospheric setting.

One of the most recognizable elements is the aerial view of the Eixample neighborhood streets, as showcased in the trailer. In this new chapter, the protagonist, Sebastian (played by Mario Casas), embarks on a journey of survival through the desolate streets of Barcelona after an enigmatic force devastates the global population.

As Sebastian forms uncertain alliances with fellow survivors, and they endeavor to escape the city, an unexpected and even more sinister threat emerges, intensifying the suspense.
