RENFE: new train Barcelona – Lyon for €19

More train connections will operate between Spain and France. RENFE intends to commence the sale of tickets for its new routes within the coming days, marking the beginning of the company's ambitious strategy to establish itself as a prominent railway operator in France.

Raul Blanco, President of RENFE, revealed the establishment of a new operational hub in Lyon, France. This milestone enables the Spanish rail company to offer ticket sales and services within the borders of France. As an officially recognized French business rail provider, RENFE is authorized to deliver international, national, and tourist services throughout the country. These services will be operated through their subsidiary, Part-Dieu Station Lyon.

According to Raul Blanco, discounted train tickets priced at 19 euros for the Barcelona to Lyon route will be available for purchase “within a few weeks.” Additionally, the Madrid-Marseille line, which includes a stop in Barcelona, will be priced at 29 euros, reports the Catalan News Agency. RENFE journeys within France will cost 9 euros.
