Bunge Expands Workforce in Barcelona, Creating Over 60 Jobs

Over the past year, Bunge, the multinational agribusiness and food company based in North America, has created over 60 new roles in its recently renovated offices in Sant Just Desvern, Barcelona. The Catalan branch, a key European hub for the company, has witnessed substantial growth as part of this expansion initiative, supported by ACCIÓ-Catalonia Trade & Investment.

Announcing this update, Rafael Olaso, the Managing Director of Bunge in Spain, and Roger Torrent, the Minister of Business and Labour, highlighted the success of the growth project. The workforce in Sant Just Desvern now comprises 280 employees from over 30 nationalities, specializing in various fields such as sustainability, digitalization,regenerative agriculture, business development, innovation, Industry 4.0, environmental science, and finance.

Emphasizing the strategic significance of Catalonia, Torrent stated that the region has established itself as one of the most dynamic environments in Europe for industrial investment projects and high-value hubs. Catalonia's robust industrial base, open economy, advanced technological ecosystem, and strategic geographic location were underscored as key factors contributing to its attractiveness.

Bunge, a global leader in agribusiness, food, and ingredients, has been operating in Sant Just Desvern since 1992. The recent renovation aimed to create a more collaborative and innovative work environment for the diverse team. The company's Barcelona team plays a crucial role in supporting activities across European, Asian, North African, and Middle Eastern markets.
