The number of foreigners living in Catalonia has increased to 1,271,810 according to Idescat, the Catalan Institute of Statistics. A big part of them live in Barcelona, of course. Now foreigners make up 16.3% of the total population of Catalonia. Most foreigners came from other European countries – 46.2%. They are followed by Americans – 28.3% and people from various African countries – 25.5%. It is also noted that there are fewer immigrants from Asia and Africa, the outflow over the past year was 0.3% and 0.2% respectively.
