The Spanish are always late: true or false?

Expat news
It is quite cultural in Spain, when people get out of the office late. At first glance, you might come to the conclusion that the reason is lack of organization. But more probably that employees just start their working day later. Or, which is more common for the regions with a hotter climate, local businesses have siestas in the middle of the day. Thus, people finish work later because Spanish entities have different timing.

It’s difficult to explain why Spanish people often arrive late for appointments, though. It happens frequently with family and friends. Well, they just take their time, the recent survey shows. But this is definitely a stereotype when speaking about professional life. Especially concerning the cliché that the Spanish are always late with project deadlines. Occasionally, this does happen, like with any other people in the world. But this is easily compensated by the Spanish being more flexible, responsive, and highly skilled at finding solutions to last-minute problems.
