Lombo is Eugeni De Diego and Ana Alvarado's Italian restaurant, located at Carrer Moliner, 1, on the corner of Plaça Cardona in Barcelona. With a clear connection to their book “How does a chef cook at home?” (Penguin, 2021), Lombo offers straightforward recipes, easy to make but with an undeniable gastronomic dimension. All the fresh pasta is made by themselves, and to decide on the two dry pasta dishes on the menu they tested 70 brands. Sardinian chef Andrea Ortu executes and adds a personal touch to De Diego's ideas, who has chosen the difficult balance of enhancing flavors and lightening dishes. The menu is short but well-thought-out, with a wide variety of dishes that ooze Italian authenticity, such as vitello tonnato of sirloin or pappardelle with ossobuco ragù. The restaurant is spacious, bright, and pleasant, with a pleasant terrace.
